Yes. Every tour is for your own party only, up to eight guests. If you are more, ask me and we will see what is possible. I never add other guests to your group.

No. Free walking tours in Lima are group tours that run on tips. My tours are private, just for your own party, with a per-person price agreed with you before the day.

Historic Lima and Markets & Flavours last about three hours each. The Barranco food tour takes about four hours. Tailored mornings are usually somewhere between two and four hours, and we agree the scope together before you book.

I guide in the mornings. The three hour tours finish by 12:00 noon; the Barranco food tour starts in the morning and runs about four hours, so it ends around lunchtime. The start time is agreed with me when you book rather than being a fixed daily departure. As an example, a three hour walk could run from 09:00 to 12:00, provided the meeting arrangements allow it.

It is a relaxed pace with plenty of stops rather than a march. Each featured tour stays within one part of the city, so the distance depends on the route we agree and on how much time we spend talking, looking and sitting down for a coffee.

Yes, we can arrange to meet at your hotel, or you can meet me at the starting point of the tour. Please share your address when you write so that we can agree the travel time, whether the journey from your hotel counts within the tour time, and any transfer costs in advance.

Lima is big and spread out, so I keep each morning within one area and we stay on foot the whole time: the historic centre, a market and its surrounding streets, or Barranco. Getting between districts is a separate journey by taxi, which we plan around when we agree the meeting point.

In cash, in Peruvian soles, during the tour. There is no online payment, deposit or card machine, so please bring the agreed amount with you.

Each tour has its own per-person price. It covers my time as your private guide plus what is listed for that tour:

Historic Lima with Manny (S/ 175 per person): my guiding only.

Markets & Flavours of Lima (S/ 250 per person): a small dish or snack, or ready-to-eat fruit, along the way, something to drink.

Barranco Food Tour with Manny (S/ 375 per person): a pisco tasting at a small shop, a classic lomo saltado for the group to share, another local delicacy along the way, a local beer, a wine or a pisco sour.

Anything extra you would like to eat or drink along the way, and any entry tickets, are at your own expense. Payment is in cash on the day.

I guide in English, Spanish, French, German, Italian and Portuguese. Tell me your preferred language when you write and I will confirm it with you.

Please ask me before booking. I will tell you honestly what I can arrange for your group rather than promising something I have not checked.

We walk in the morning, on busy and well-visited streets, and I choose the route. As in any large city, keep valuables discreet and ask me about anything you are unsure of before we set out. I adjust the walk on the day if something does not feel right.

Yes. The Historic Centre of Lima is a UNESCO World Heritage site, with grand squares, wooden colonial balconies, churches and busy pedestrian streets. On the Historic Lima walk I focus on the squares, the architecture and the stories behind them, at a pace that leaves time for your questions.

Ceviche above all, and dishes such as lomo saltado, causa, anticuchos and picarones, made with produce that reaches the markets from the coast, the Andes and the Amazon. On the Markets & Flavours walk we talk about the ingredients behind them and you decide what you would like to try; anything extra you choose to taste is bought by you at the stall.
